Dutch Connection The Llc
In: Baltimore Florists

I tried twice to work with this florist for my wedding flowers and both times was treated very rudely by the owner Paula. Both times I was a walk in but if they were unable to accommodate a client for a very simple order (one bridal bouquet and a boutineer) and unwilling to set up an appointment then I really do not understand how I could work with them. When I asked about a specific flower I was told that she did not like them (orchids) and when I asked for alternatives she showed me an example that was $180. When I asked if she could do something looser and smaller and asked for a price she said she did not work that way. When I asked if I should come back on a better day with some example photos she said I could bring in photos but they are usually too ugly. At this point I was totally exasperated. I really wanted them to do my flowers but she at no point offered any way for me to work with her. I know people who used her shop 3 or so years ago and report such different experiences and I was really excited to use them - which was why I went back a second time after being treated about as abruptly the first time I walked in. I am so disappointed. At this point I will use another company and suggest that this shop look into hiring someone who can effectively manage sales or customers, Paula obviously cannot.

Mudcat Grant
In: The All Time All Underrated Team

I thought I knew my baseball lore, especially concerning players with goofy names, but I'd never heard of him until I saw this list. Seeing that he went 21-7 in 1965 without going any higher than 6th in AL MVP balloting, he should probably be regarded as underrated, even in his own time.

2008 Spain
In: OIympic Basketball Teams (Men)

This team was a typical European team which moved the ball well and shot well espeically from three point range along with good post play in Pau and Marc Gasol. Also it featured a good athlete in Rudy Fernandez and a good young point guard in Ricky Rubio who was only 17 along with NBA guards Jose Calderon and Juan Navarro. After being blown out by the US in the preliminary round, it gave the US a run for its money in the gold medal game as it shot well in the game while Juan Carlos Navarro was able to drive the lane and hit for some floaters. However Spain committed several turnovers which led to fastbreaks for the US and had no shut down defenders to lock down Dwyane Wayne or Kobe Bryant. Also Jose Calderon was unable to play in the gold medal game. If Spain had been able to cut down on its turnovers, or Jose Calderon was able to play, or they had been able to control D-Wade or Kobe they might have pulled off the upset.

Okay for a Mexican restaurant. Seriously it was a struggle to get vegetarian. Tasted fresh, might take some more time for them to get establish on this region.

Probably they should atleast have one English speaking staff.

This is a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant in the Mission.

They didn't have half the things on the menu, and they don't speak any English whatsoever.
I didn't really enjoy the tostada thing I had for lunch. It looked good, but the beef was too chewy.
There were no other customers there. Not recommended.

Got lost in that slew of Point Guards Who Weren't Magic. But there are a lot of underrated players in his category -- for example, the late Dennis Johnson might also qualify as underrated. So I hope I may be forgiven for saying that I wouldn't rate him as overly underrated.

Cali: Animals are banned from mating publicly within 1,500 feet of a tavern, school, or place of worship.
In: Dumb Laws (5=worst)-

Not according to the laws implemented, but according to the ceremonial laws, leering at animals like dogs and donkeys is an unclean scene, and a misbehaviour as in the public opinion. However, domestic animals like cows, sheep, and goats are fine, as they look to us like foods, and yes indeed, they are on our food menue, but who would be aroused by such walking foods? In my opinion, such animals deserve to be controlled, and reigned in their owners homes, and would suit only their owners to watch them anyway. But allowing them doing it in the public, is an invitation of another question.

BEWARE! I would not recommend this company to any physician's practice. There product may be competetively priced, but there is a reason. They have turned my office into chaos in a matter of weeks. The support is awful and I question if anyone in that 50 person office of theirs actually knows what they are doing. In addition, they will not let you out of their 12 month contract regardless of the case, even if they are to blame.

Definitely better than EVH. ;-)

UPDATE:

His style is deceptively simple, but few have mastered it.

Props to Canned Heat and ZZ Top.

Triumph

He appeared on the first episode of the Gong Show revival, which probably would have been gonged itself if Triumph hadn't come through with some good put-downs. After one performer used his feet to crush a beer can attached to his forehead, Triumph commented: "So you can kick yourself in the head? Big deal, I can lick my balls!"

This is a hole in the wall place that has been only been open for a week or so. The place isn't particularly inviting, and there is a tiny TV that must be from the 1950's sitting on one of the tables.

The place was out of most of the items on the menu (they had only just opened a week or so earlier).

But the staff (owners?) really welcomed us - giving us complimentary soup and atoles with our lunch which was really nice. I felt like I was at somebody's house.

All the stuff there is made from scratch - the tamales, the tortillas, etc. I had the pork and chicken tamales and they were just as good as the Tamale Lady's and only $2 per pop.

I'm not sure if I'm going back there, but it was a nice, random experience.

Tom Chambers
In: The All Time All Underrated Team

This man was a flat out gunner, and I don't mean that in a particularly flattering sense. He shot every time he touched the ball. Malcolm Gladwell wrote a really interesting piece on basketball stereotypes - what it means to "play black" versus "play white" and came up with all kinds of players that broke the stereotypes. The stereotype of the white player is - not very athletic, but a hard working team player who preferred to pass than shoot. Chambers broke this stereotype as he was ultra athletic, but didn't seem to give a damn about winning games, and man did he chuck it.

He's an excellent blues guitar player, and though he wasn't as brilliantly eclectic as Brian, he still deserves five stars for saving the Rolling Stones when Brian couldn't play anymore.

I could go to any music class, in any grade school around the the world and find a kid that could play circles around this none talent. The people that praise him are the same people that think they are sophisticated because they can google "old blues guitarist" and then watch them on youtube. Then come to RIA and say "look at me, I know an old blues guitarist, aren't I COOL!". What a joke, just like this bum.

Metro PCS
In: Mobile Phone Services

Metro PCS charges you to make payments.
By law they must tell you how much your bill is
and you only HAVE to pay that.
They must by law allow you to pay that amount, for free.
but MetroPcs makes it as difficult as possible (including lying
to you about aspects of your attempts to pay free) so you have to use the payment option that charges a fee before your phone is shut off.
They hope you will get so frustrated trying to pay for free
that you give up and just pay the fee.
The also plan for you to quit there service in aprox. six months
The time they estimate you will be so frustrated with the payment
hassles, that you move on to another service.
You see, Metro PCS knows other phone services are horrible with their
customers too. Metro PCS knows they will have as many people sign up
for their service as one's who quit.

the Bush administration's set the example for all corporations;
do whatever to make money....rules laws and ethics be damed.
